"The First Step"

The Simplehome design plans are the heart of the Simplehome web site. This is where we put thoughts into action in the form of house plans for you to choose from and purchase. We have a few very small houses designed for people on strict budgets to be built inexpensively, and we have some larger ones as well. The important thing about a house though is not the size, but how it fits your life. For us, that also means it's simple to build, and doesn't waste space or resources, the earth's or yours.

When you purchase one of our Design Plan Sets you will receive:

All Floor plans, drawn to scale, with dimensions showing overall area, room sizes and window and door locations.
All Exterior Building Elevations with materials noted and rendered.
Many of our plans also include typical Building Cross Sections dimensioned to show top of structure, window heights, and significant architectural features. See the individual plan pages for what's included in each Design Plan Set.

"Step Two"

The information included in the plan sets is enough to get you started. With this package in hand you will be able look for a building site, find a contractor for some preliminary construction costs, and meet with the local building official about your project. Don't worry if this all sounds complicated, there are plenty of good books to guide you through the process. The most important thing is that you have a clear picture of what your project will require, and the Design Plan Set has a lot of information to get you started.

"At Last"

When you're ready to build, your building official or contractor may require more information. You should ask an architect or engineer in your area to provide the additional information. A knowledgeable professional who is familiar with local codes and conditions should review any plans before proceeding.
